Rolta's engineering team is made up of Process, Mechanical, Civil Structural, Plant Design & Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Project Management engineers with 2 to 30 years of experience. Many of the material specifications, symbols and other necessary data are already in our systems because of the vast number of jobs completed. We have the functional capability of creating these specifications and symbols if we don't already have them.
Approach
Rolta approaches this work in several ways that you may find beneficial. We are more than willing to work with our customers on pilot projects. This has been an effective way for many of our customers to experience first-hand the Rolta advantage. Secondly, our onshore offshore approach allows for 10% of all executed man hours to be performed at the clients physical site and the remaining man hours to be deliver from off shore.

Technical Issues
Currently in the engineering world there is no neutral standard data format for design data to be transferred from one tool set to another. At least six commercial technology platforms and many legacy home grown packages exist today. This wide range of technology usage makes it very difficult to cover all your customers’ needs. Furthermore, each project is usually specified to be completed in one specific technology package so that the data is compatible. The demand estimates for work in a particular package are difficult giving rise to talent and training balancing issues in many companies.
Asset information lifecycle management is also a goal that owner operators are putting on EPC’s. These goals are difficult to achieve without good partners or solutions for this area. Rolta’s technical solution includes software utilities and services that can supply the owner operators with the correct format of quality asset master data for their operations. If Rolta is the design engineer partner on the job, then we can interact with the other contractors and Owner to ensure the correct data packages are transferred.

Implementation
Rolta is pleased to work on small and large jobs to help our clients using our onsite offshore workshare methodology. We usually expect about 10% of the work to be completed by our onsite staff while the remaining portion is executed by are excellent offshore staff. We find that this decreases the management burden on our clients and increases efficiency and quality of the deliverables produced.
