Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ)

Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ) is a major oil production and refining organization in the Gulf region. It produces crude oil and refines it to make products like olefins (monomers and polymers). SHARQ is going in for an expansion project to increase the production of olefins.

SWRL is executing detailed engineering and procurement services for the organization, in close collaboration with Stone & Webster’s Milton Keynes (UK) office. This project involves detailed engineering in all disciplines and is being executed in a `work share’ mode, the work being split vertically between S&W’s UK offices and SWRL’s office in Mumbai.

SWRL is providing advanced detailed engineering services such as:

• Equipment and piping modeling, taking into consideration operation, maintenance and safety norms
• Instrumentation engineering and design, involving the preparation of a instrument database, DCS graphics, I/O assignment and point configuration and all engineering and design activities pertaining to instrumentation
• Civil and structural detail engineering, including analysis, 3D modeling and generation of foundation and steel drawings for pipe racks, equipment and platforms
• Electrical engineering, involving the preparation of single line diagrams, equipment layout, grounding layouts, lighting and small power layouts, cable routing, control schematics / interconnection diagrams and heat tracing
• Mechanical detailed engineering and design work, including pressure vessel design and thermal design of heat exchangers

This project is being executed using state-of-the-art data communication technologies and software capabilities in a work-share environment, cutting across geographical boundaries and time zones.
