Stone & Webster Rolta Limited awarded Engineering Services Contract for Reliance's IPCL Gandhar Petrochemical Complex
Mumbai, April 13, 2005: Stone & Webster Rolta Ltd. (SWRL) has been awarded the Engineering services contract for the 5th gas-cracking furnace at Reliance's IPCL Gandhar Petrochemical complex at Gujarat, India. This furnace will be an expansion of the existing four Stone & Webster USC-24W cracking furnaces and will increase the installed capacity at Gandhar to 400 KTA Ethylene.
SWRL's scope includes high-end Detail Engineering and Design including preparation of Design Basis Document, based on the NC furnace package, suitably modified to suit the GC conditions and pipe rack elevations; update of drawings to as built and to as purchased condition and in addition design of balance new equipment including developing and finalizing interconnecting P&IDs, etc. The scope also includes Procurement Assistance/Engineering and Construction Management.
The project has already begun and Mechanical completion is planned in early 2006. This award reaffirms the company's strong capabilities to undertake the most complex of projects and places it amongst the country's premier engineering companies.
