Rolta achieves the Ultimate Benchmark for Information Security with BS7799 certification

Mumbai, March 15, 2005:Rolta India Limited - India's leading IT company has demonstrated its high level of competence in information security management by having its eSolutions Strategic Business Group to be awarded with the BS7799 accreditation, the ultimate benchmark for information security.

BS 7799 is a British Standard which was developed as a result of industry, government and commerce demand for a common framework to enable companies to develop, implement and measure effective security management practice and to provide confidence in customers. It is based on the best current information security practices of leading British and international businesses and has met with international acclaim. The purpose of information security management is to ensure business continuity and reduce business damage by preventing and minimizing the impact of security incidents. Adhering to the strict BS 7799 certifications ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of any information flow in an organization.

The assessment for the certification was conducted by BSI, the largest and most respected management systems registrar in the world, supported by BSI Group Offices and are regarded universally as a global service provider of the highest quality and integrity.
